Angela Rawls is passionate about education and dedicated to the overall success of children. She has devoted over 20 years to the academic success and social growth of youth in the Las Vegas communities. Mrs. Rawls currently teaches 5th grade at Linda Givens Elementary School in Las Vegas, NV. She is the Grade Level Chairperson, and serves on the Student Intervention Program and the Learning Improvement Team. Her experience includes extensive work with children of culturally diverse backgrounds, and she currently provides orientation instruction to new teachers in Clark County. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and she obtained her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. She has extensive training in math strategies, speech development and disorders, and teaching students to become proficient writers.

This woman's leadership skills prove to be an asset when involved with many projects in the educational setting. Angela was nationally recognized by her excellence in education in the 9th Edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Her latest achievement was developing a different approach to writing by revising and editing using highlighters. During the recent Staff Development In-Service, she trained her colleagues on her revising and editing model to create proficient writers. She has implemented this strategy at Givens Elementary School, and is proud to announce that Givens ranked #1 in the Clark County School District on the Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam with 85.2%.

Mrs. Rawls believes that all students should have the same opportunities to excel academically. Unfortunately, she realizes that social economics are the deciding factor on the quality of education that a child receives. Her goal is to become an advocate in the communities of Las Vegas to change this statistic. She is strongly influenced by her mother, also, a teacher in the Clark County School District, on the importance of succeeding against all odds. Mrs. Rawls recently discovered purpose is giving children the necessary tools to sit on top of the world in mind, body, and spirit. This philosophy has inspired the birth of Empowered 2 Excel. By erecting educational youth centers in the Greater Las Vegas Areas for boys and girls, she's confident that Nevada's educational rating would tremendously increase.

Mrs. Rawls spends much of her time educating and counseling youth in making healthy choices in life. She enjoys scrap booking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family. Cities across America are in dire need of centers that encompass the overall wellness of our children, and Mrs. Rawls is ecstatic to have centers that will empower children to become leaders and to assist them in discovering their purpose in life. She currently resides with her husband, Lawrence, and her own baby girl, Maya Simone, and she's overjoyed about the opportunity to support children in living their best life now.
